Yeabsira Tesfaye (Addis Ababa, Ethiopia/St. Ragueal Church) in his first year at Howard Community College has made an impact on the field, while being strong academicially with his English major. Freshman Midfielder
Yeabsira Tesfaye (Addis Ababa, Ethiopia/St. Ragueal Church), had nothing short of an impressive season and was named First Team All-Region because of it. Tesfaye earned a total of 13 goals by the end of his season while leading the team in assists with 12. His ability to handle the ball as well as attack makes him a versatile threat. While opponents are afraid of his scoring ability Tesfaye takes full advantage of that, finding his teammates in space, and setting up plays. Yeabsira earned a hat trick for the Dragons come playoff time, on October 30th, against Anne Arundel Community College, Tesfaye scored all three goals, advancing Howard to the next round, 3-0. The play-making ability was out of this world throughout the season, Yeabsira had 5 games with 2 or more assists, contributing all over the field. On September 18th, vs Anne Arundel Community College Tesfaye passed for 3 assists aiding the Dragons in a 6-0 victory. In only his first year at Howard Community College
