Columbia, MD - Three members of the HCC Dragons softball program were named to the Region 20 All-Region team this past week. with two first-team members and one second-team member!
Pitcher and third baseman
Marissa Webb (Hanover, MD/Mount de Sales) completed her freshman season with 62 RBIs, 59 hits, 52 runs scored, 20 doubles, one triple, and 18 home runs. Her batting average of .434 was second best on the team. She led the team in home runs and RBIs, as well as total RA and saves on the pitching side. Webb finished with a 5-9 record, pitching six complete games and recording an ERA of 5.65. She was named to the All-Region First Team.
Middle infielder
Courtney Johnson (Fulton, MD/Reservoir) finished her first and only season with the Dragons with a team-leading .503 batting average. She finished the season with 74 hits, 34 extra-base hits, seven home runs, and 36 RBIs, leading the team in hits and stolen bases. Defensively, Johnson led the Dragons with 97 total assists. She was named to the All-Region First Team.
Pitcher and outfielder
Micah Howell (Columbia, MD/Atholton) finished her second season with a batting average of .369, 41 hits, 13 extra-base hits, and 30 RBIs. Pitching wise, she had a 2-1 record with an ERA of 9.80. She was named to the All-Region Second Team.
