Columbia, MD - In the second half of the Dragons Field Trip Day double header, Howard Community College's women's basketball turned in a confident performance in its 55-44 win over Prince George's Community College.

From the outset, the Dragons established their presence with active defense and unselfish play on offense. Jasmine Dailey (Odenton, MD/Meade), one of three Dragons in double figures, earned five points in the first quarter, and the opening basket. She finished the game with a double-double with 12 points, ten rebounds, and three steals. Howard created scoring opportunities by moving the ball and taking advantage of defensive stops, allowing them to gain an early edge. At halftime the score was a lopsided 34-18.

Prince George's worked to mount a comeback, but the shooting struggles continued throughout the entire match. The Owls finished the game shooting only 24% from the field. Howard stayed focused and answered with timely plays, strong rebounding and disciplined defense to limit second chances. Savannah Price (Woodbridge, VA/Freedom) was showing the stroke from deep, draining five threes, and led the team in scoring with 17 points, seven rebounds, and four steals.

Down the stretch, Jolie Hamilton (Baltimore, MD/Forest Park) helped the dragons stay afloat as the Owls were closing in. Prince George's outscored the Dragons 16-5 in the final quarter. All five came from Hamilton, and she finished the game with thirteen points and six rebounds. The balanced effort and attention to detail proved decisive as the Dragons closed out the victory.

The Dragons will play again January 13 at 5:00 PM against Essex County College on the road.
