Dragons Record Eleven Top-3 Finishes at Seahawk Invitational

St. Mary's City, MD - The Howard Community College Men's and Women's Track and Field teams combined for eleven Top-3 finishes on Saturday at the Seahawk Invitational.

Women's Highlights:

Iyonna Davis ran a 12.46 (PR) to capture second place in the 100m race.
Rashelle Buynum (Columbia, MD/Wilde Lake) recorded second in the long jump at 5.05m (PR).

Men's Highlights

Ryan Thibeaudeau placed 1st in the 4000m race, with a time of 16:54:89.
In the 1500m race, Brandom McMillen finished in 2nd place for Howard with a time of 4:21:49 (PR).
Two Dragons finished in the top-3 of the 200m, led by Divine Rice (Columbia, MD/Long Reach) with a time of 22.18 (PR) at 2nd place, and Mife Osinubi who ran a 22.33 (PR) for 3rd place.
Rice earned third place in the 100m race at 10.89 (PR).
The Dragons placed third in the 4x100m relay (43.27), made up of Rice, Osinubi, Emmanuel Addo (Columbia, MD/Hammond), and Nicholas Haylock (Fort Meade, MD/Meade).
In the 4x400m relay, Howard placed third as well with a time of 3:31:32, made up of Nazeer England (Columbia, MD/Wilde Lake), Osinubi, Addo, and Haylock (A-Team).
Pedro Egudu (Ellicott City, MD/Howard) placed third overall in the long jump at 6.60m (PR).
Isaac Buyundo earned third place in the triple jump at 13.83m (PR).

Personal Records:

Two Dragons finished in the top-10 in the 200m, led by Davis with a time of 26.08 (PR) at 5th place, and Buynum with a time of 27.28 (PR) at 7th place.
Lynniya Whitaker (Columbia, MD/Atholton) recorded a top-5 finish in the shotput, earning 5th place (10.98m PR), along with a fourth place finish in the hammer throw at 32.08m (PR).
Temiloluwa Akinsanya (Columbia, MD/Long Reach) and Brianna Jackson (Columbia, MD/Wilde Lake) finished in the top-10 of the hammer throw, led by Akinsanya (30.01) at 6th place, and Jackson with a time of 24.76 (PR) at 10th place.
Top-8 finish for Addo and Haylock in the 100m race, Addo finished in sixth place with a time of11.31 (PR), and Haylock finished in seventh place with a time of 11.44 (PR).
Addo, Haylock, and England finished top-10 in the 200m race, led by Addo with a time of 22.75 (PR) in sixth place, England with a time of 23.14 (PR) in eighth place, and Haylock with a time of 23.17 (PR) in ninth place.

Howard will look to host the Mid-Atlantic JUCO Invitational on Saturday, April 13 at Dragons Stadium in Columbia, MD at 9 AM.
