Myrtle Beach, SC - In their second meet of the season, the Howard Community College Dragons track & field team looked strong as they took on top-tier competition at the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational.
The Dragons set multiple personal records at the three-day meet and set a school record in the 4x200m. Howard got multiple top-ten results from their sophomore runners, along with new career-best finishes from their talented freshmen class.

Highlights:
- Nazeer England (Columbia, MD/Wilde Lake) placed second in the men's 400m open race, with a personal record of 49.80. Anthony Robinson (Greenbelt, MD/St. Vincent Palotti) finished in the top 20 with a personal record of 51.97.
- Pedro Egudu (Ellicott City, MD/Howard) made his debut in the men's decathlon, finishing an impressive sixth place. Egudu placed fifth in the 100m portion, fourth in the 110m run, second in the 400m, and first in the 1500m race. Egudu placed second in the long jump with a distance of 6.54 meters, a season best, then finished seventh in the shot put and eighth in the high jump. Egudu finished the decathlon up with a personal record in the dicus, an eighth place finish in the pole vault, and a seventh-place finish in the javelin throw.
- Larry Brent (Columbia, MD/St. Vincent Palotti) finished sixth overall in the men's 400m hurdles, setting a personal record with a time of 57.58.
- The Dragons cracked the top ten in the men's 4x200m relay, setting a school record in the process. Larry Brent (Columbia, MD/St. Vincent Palotti), Emmanuel Addo (Columbia, MD/Hammond), Rojae Campbell, and Divine Rice (Columbia, MD/Long Reach) finished in eighth place with a time of 1:28.71.
- Ryan Thibaudeau (Fulton, MD/Reservoir) set a personal record in the men's 1000m race, finishing with a time of 35:08.46. The sophomore also set a season best result in the men's 3000m, finishing with a 9:58.07 time.
- Divine Rice (Columbia, MD/Long Reach) and Emmanuel Addo (Columbia, MD/Hammond) set season bests in the mens 100m race, with Rice finishing 17th overall with a 10.91. Addo scored an 11.42.
- Jayden Gallion (Glendale, MD/CMIT Academy) went under two minutes in the men's 800m for the first time, finishing with a time of 1:58.80.
- Chukwueloka Okafor (Burtonsville, MD/Paint Branch) set a personal record in the men's hammer throw with a distance of 30.18 meters. In the men's shot put, Okafor set another personal record with a distance of 8.34 meters.
- Temiloluwa Akinsanya (Columbia, MD/Long Reach) set a personal record in the women's hammer throw with a distance of 34.28 meters. SHe also set a season-best in the women's shot put with a distance of 8.68 meters.
